The
answers to 99% of the technical support queries we recieve
are contained below. Please read this carefully first.
If you do not find an answer to your problem please
check that you have installed the latest patch and that
you consult the relevant technical support forum for
your product: Uplink,
Darwinia
or DEFCON.
iIf you still can't find
the solution to your problem, or if you just want to
drop a note to say HI, please contact us here.
Patches - READ FIRST!
Please, Please, Please
make sure you have installed the latest Uplink,
Darwinia
or DEFCON,
patch. If you have a problem with a game the chances
are we have either fixed it, or will fix it soon. When
you apply the patch you must make sure THE GAMES ARE
NOT RUNNING! The patches are not compatible with Steam,
and if you are a steam user they will be applied automatically.
Keys
Defcon is the only game
that currently uses a key to activate it. When you order
Defcon you will recieve your key when you get to the
download page of the store. You can always retrieve
your key by logging into the store here.
If you have forgotten your password you can retireve
it here.
We know that in the DEFCON
manual it says the key is on the back. This was a mistake,
but when you've printed 100,000 copies, what you going
to do?
If you have tried to
enter your key and you receive a "key unknown"
error, then you have a networking problem. This can
be resolved here.
Shipping
We will ship a boxed
copy to you anywhere in the world. This is highly recommended
as the box contains some really cool artwork that you'll
want to check out. To order a boxed copy, just select
"+boxed" from the drop-down list within any
of the game pages in the store.
Depending on where you
are it will take between 5 and ten days to get a unit
out to you and we will send you an e-mail to let you
know when the product has been shipped. Unfortunately
we are unable to provide tracking information.
On occasion units are
lost in the post, and if you have waited for more than
10 days please do contact us
for an update, however it will help us enormously if
you can quote your order number (contained in your confirmation
e-mail) when you contact us.
Vista
At the moment we cannot
guarentee that our games will run under Vista. We are
working on a series of patches to ensure compatibility,
which should come out in the next few months. In the
mean time the games may run, but only if you have the
latest graphics card drivers from Nvidia,
ATI
or other vendor.
MacOS
You can buy Mac versions
of Uplink,
Darwinia,
Defcon,
and Multiwinia
from Ambrosia
Software. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to
get a PC talking to a Mac, but we have finally managed
it!
