23rd June 2002
PROJECT NAKATOMI WILL BE RELEASED IN TWO WEEKS TIME.
As a celebration of this fact, Introversion Software will be running a challenge on this very web site. The challenge will take the form of a treasure hunt. Over the course of the next couple of weeks (leading up to Nakatomi) we will gradually modify the website and plant subtle clues in various places about the nature of the treasure hunt. Clues could be hidden anywhere - consider everywhere on this site to be "fair game", and we will be hiding hints and tips of varying difficulties all over the place. Right now we're not even going to tell you what the ultimate aim or prize of the challenge is - but it certainly will be interesting. Expect the website to be changing on an almost daily basis for at least the next couple of weeks.
More details will emerge as the challenge plays out. This challenge is designed to be solvable by anyone, given reasonable persistance. You won't need any special abilities (programming, hacking etc) to get somewhere. We suspect the people who solve this thing first will be those who work together in small groups and share information. We're not going to give any specific schedules right now, but we will have released every hint that we are planning on releasing within about three weeks. At that point we will see how people are doing, and maybe drop a few more hints if nobody has figured it out yet.
A lot of things are going to happen within the next two to three weeks, so check back often. More soon.
